Reference is made to our previous announcement dated 21 October 2011 pertaining to the signing of a memorandum of understanding (“MOU”) with Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Japan (“Mitsui”) for the proposed sale by our Company to Mitsui of a 20% stake in Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (“DMSB”) that would result in Mitsui increasing its stake in DMSB from 10% to 30%, and to our subsequent announcements dated 30 December 2011, 31 January 2012, 29 February 2012 and 30 March 2012 to extend the deadline for the execution of a definitive agreement.

 As the parties have not entered into a formal sale and purchase agreement by the latest agreed deadline, both parties have allowed the MOU to lapse. However, the Company is continuing to explore and study further collaboration opportunities with Mitsui, and announcements will be issued to inform the shareholders as and when appropriate.
